GENERAL PROVISIONS
ARTICLE I: NAME AND DETERMINATION
Paragraph 1: Name
The name of this association is: IVOIRE UNION
Paragraph 2: Definition
• Ivorian here is defined as any individual who is an Ivorian
National or has any affiliation with the Ivory Coast.
• Membership can be obtained in these cases: either being born in the Ivory Coast,
being married to an Ivoirian, having resided for a period in the
Ivory Coast, or having the economic development of the Ivory Coast
at heart.
ARTICLE II: HEADQUARTERS
The headquarter of IVOIRE UNION is in FEDERAL WAY,
Washington State.
ARTICLE III: GOALS
Paragraph 1: To defend the interests of the Ivorian
community and strengthen the bonds of friendship and brotherhood
in this community.
Paragraph 2: To facilitate the integration of newcomers
in the Ivorian community.
Paragraph 3: Promote the Ivorian culture.
Paragraph 4: To represent the Ivorian community in
various organizations, and associations.
ARTICLE IV: MEMBERS
Paragraph 1:
As defined in Article I, Paragraph 2, anyone can be a member of the association
provided they adhere to the
organization’s objectives and goals and paid his
membership fees as mentioned in the Rules of Procedure.
Both spouses are two individual members and as such enjoy the
benefits associated with their status as they are subject to the
obligations relating to their membership.
Paragraph 2: Members' Rights
• Attend all ordinary and extraordinary meetings held by the
Association.
• Participate in decision-making on all issues submitted to
membership vote, with abstention votes allowed.
• Participate in any vote to amend the constitution.
• Participate in the smooth running of the Association.
